Michael Hutchinson wins PTW Open 25 with a 46:09
A huge thanks to everyone who turned out today to the PTW Open 25. Our biggest event of the year and really a showcase for the club. Excellent too to see so many good times in what became fairly blustery conditions, and fatally with a cross-headwind for the outgoing 15 miles that did nothing to help you out on the 9 miles back! That's just not fair, is it?
Somehow the remarkable Michael Hutchinson simply ignored the conditions to record a blistering 46:09. Notable mention also goes to the fastest junior Alex Royle who recorded a smidgeon over the magic 50, an amazing time for a Junior and 4 mins clear of his rivals. Colin Wallace of Merthyr also continues to improve with a new PB of 50:00, and our own Hugh Davies recorded a low 55, which is a full 24 minutes inside his Vet Std. My apologies to anyone I have forgotten.
Full results posted here in due course once everyone involved in running the event has got over the shock of getting up so early. Our thanks also to David Crowley Snr, our president, for presenting the prizes, and for not realising his own strength as he ripped the backlight off of our Secretary Les' bike when he pushed him off. There's nice.
